Yours by Jay Blair

AUTHOR’S BLURB: Mike usually keeps to himself, content to enjoying quiet days off and working nights as a bartender. One night he meets an odd man drinking alone at the bar he works at. His quick wit and friendly demeanor lures Mike out of his comfort zone and opens him up to new experiences.

This book is not suitable for anyone under the age of 18. This book does not end in a cliffhanger and has a happy ending.

MY REVIEW: This is good. It’s enticing. But, complaints first: IT’S TOO SHORT!!! This could and should be developed more. It feels very much like I’ve only read a couple of highlights from a book. What’s Roger’s past, that has made him so drink-needy? The usual answer is a relationship ending, but there was no discussion, no answer. Unsolved mystery, just like the old show. If Mike is so awkward at karaoke about not being gay, how is he all of a sudden willing and comfortable and eager to get to smexy-times almost a week later? And I want to know if it is HEA or HFN, and hopefully not just a roll in the hay.
Overall, the complaint list and compliment list are the same: it was good, but I want more.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
